Who we are

At the Aotearoa Institute of Education, we are committed to creating meaningful change for communities across Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland). Guided by the principles of Hauora (holistic health and well-being) and the central importance of Whānau (family), we aim to provide pathways for personal growth, education, and empowerment. Our mission is clear: to break the cycle of poverty by equipping individuals and families with the skills, resources, and confidence to thrive.

Born from the impactful work of Kura Cares Charity, our institute was established to take community education and training to the next level. As a Private Training Establishment (PTE), we’re working towards NZQA accreditation to ensure our programs are recognized and deliver measurable outcomes, including NCEA credits starting in 2025.

We focus on providing culturally responsive, community-centered programs tailored to Māori and Pacific families, addressing the unique challenges they face. Whether through financial literacy, leadership development, or fitness and wellness initiatives, we empower participants to envision a brighter future and take active steps toward achieving it.

Our work is collaborative by nature, with partnerships across education, health, and community sectors. By integrating mentorship, practical skill-building, and personal development, we foster resilience, leadership, and independence, ensuring that every participant leaves equipped to make a positive impact on their whānau and community.

Join us in our mission to raise living standards, nurture talent, and build stronger, healthier communities. Together, we’re empowering whānau and transforming futures.
